Seal your ceiling
Hot air rises naturally. Seal all the gaps between your roof cavity and your living space, it will prevent the heat in your rooms from rising to the roof cavity and allowing the cold air to replace the hot air. Pay attention to items like suncken ceiling lights and ceiling fans extracting air from rooms and bathrooms directly to the roof cavity. This does not apply when you have a controlled roof cavity ventilation system.
