To help minimise dishes (therefore reducing hot water consumption), choose your favourite mug and re-use this, rather than using a new mug every time you make a hot drink.
It's cheaper to boil the kettle than it is to run hot water. If you're doing the dishes by hand fill the sink up with water from the kettle instead of from the hot water tap.
Always keep mixer taps set to cold - move them to warm or hot water flow only when you really want warm water, and are going to wait long enough for it to come through.
I load up my log burner, then I put my kettle on it so I have hot water all day for coffee's I cook on it as well from soup to fried eggs and bacon that way I don't have to use my oven or hobb or jug
