I believe most frequently used rooms in the house need to be fitted with occupancy sensors.

As pretty as they are, fairy lights illuminating buildings and trees, are completely unnecessary.

Fluorescent lamps , the most energy efficient form of lighting. They use only 20% the energy of normal light bulbs.

Fit motion sensor lights where lighting is needed only occasionally, e.g. security lights, porch lights, passage and stairwell lights, garage lights.

Replace normal light bulbs with energy saving lightbulbs. Over time will save you power consumption and money.

Flourescent lights use 1/5th power of ordinary lights, ideal for kitchen, living room and hallways

use energy saver bulb/lights of 11/15/20 watt other then cnoventional 60 watt bulb and helogen light, that will save lots of power

In the evening when the kids have gone to bed, head to bed also. This way you don't need the heaters going, only need the bedside lights and then read a book or watch a smaller tv.

We often light the candles at tea time.
