Energy saving ideas and tips for the kitchen
On behalf of A Russell, one of our customers in the North.
Consider trading it in for a fan bake oven, it will cut your cooking time considerably, and make your cooking taste so much better :O)
We waste so much electricity on the stove for cooking food. Use the sun for solar energy and slow cooking and you can save a lot.
Stick your casserole on top of the Log burner first thing, along with the stove jug.
place the fridge away from any heat-producing sources, warm airflow, or sunlight. Make sure there is at least an 8mm ventilation gap behind the fridge.
Some things can take a long time to cook in the oven such as roast chicken, pizza.
When cooking, boil water in the jug first, then transfer to the pot on the stove.
The jug is more efficient in heating up the water as it is enclosed and designed for the job,
fix any leaking hot water taper , it saves lots money at end of the year
Match pots & pans to stove element for best heat transfer, using lids wherever possible
Warm foods and spicy foods keep you warm from the inside out for longer. A pinch of paprika or chilli ensures your own body heat keeps you warm.
