Heating

If you only have one source of heat in your house, i.e.

about saving power then consider this. Your Hot water cylinder when turned on only operates at one speed. That is flat out. Whenever the thermostat trips then it only knows flat out.

Keep a nice warm blanket on your sofa so that when it gets chilly at night while watching TV your family will choose to cover themselves with the blanket rather than turn on the heater.

If children think they look good or feel special in a certain jacket/ woollen jumper etc, then they will wear it often rather than turn on a heater when they feel cold.

For double bed instead of heating both sides of bed with electric blanket, can heat up just one side and keep close to bed partner ( the warmed side).

I was once told that hunters guage the "coldness" of the night by how many dogs it takes to keep them warm,
and discovered that they do in fact release a lot of heat!

If you are really cold instead of turning on the heater hop in the car/////go for a quick spin around the block with the heater on full!!!!

Use a hot water bottle to warm your bed instead of an electric blanket or try turning on the electric blankets 15 minutes before you go to bed.

Fill up a hot water bottle and put under the covers five minutes before you go to bed. Your bed will be warm and you'll save using the electric blanket.
